Council Accomplishments

The Council provides a collective voice for our members to influence local, state, and federal public policy decisions both legislatively and administratively. Member agencies’ ability to provide high quality, evidence based programs is dependent on ensuring adequate funding is available to those who serve our most vulnerable citizens. Council staff establish and maintain strong relationships with elected officials, their staff, and state department staff (DES, DHS, AOC, etc.), and encourage member program staff to do the same on a local level.

Council staff track and synthesize legislation on a state and federal level that impacts the human service delivery system. Members are provided information before, during, and after each legislative session to help them become more effective advocates for their staff and service recipients. We build our legislative and administrative advocacy agendas based on input from members. Most importantly, we maintain a powerful statewide presence impacting decisions made by elected officials and state agencies.
